Hello! My name is Zara, and I don't mean to brag, but I am kind of what started all of this! I am my mom's first rescue. She adopted me form Healing Hearts Animal Rescue and Refuge in 2016. I was in very good health when she found me, but I was so afraid of humans no one could even get a halter on me! Humans kept coming to meet me because I was so pretty but no one would adopt me because they could not catch me. My mom decided she wanted me anyway, and the rest is history! It took months but the humans were finally able to catch me. Now I have some liberty basics and can even lay down on command!
I am a highly sensitive girl and tend to be quite anxious still, but I am much more relaxed than I used to be. I love my mom and hanging out with the other horses and especially alfalfa! My mom says I am the biggest "talker" of all the horses at feeding time. I can't wait to do more liberty training, it is so much fun and builds my confidence!
