Hope

Updated: Dec 10, 2023

Hello! My name is Hope, and I came from Texas where I was dumped in a kill pen with the rest of my herd. I was so scared of people that no one could get near me. I even JUMPED OVER a 6ft fence to escape. I was so wild and scared that no one would rescue me, even though the rest of my herd found homes.

The day I was supposed to load onto the slaughter truck, someone else came to get me instead and took me to a nice pasture where I could just relax and be a horse for a while. I finally made the long trip to Arizona in February of 2022 (not without jumping over a fence AGAIN to try and avoid being loaded onto the trailer).

I now live on the C.A.R.E. for Horses Foundation ranch with my best friends Gunner, Finn and Oreo. I started this thing called "training" last year and my new people taught me that I don't need to jump over fences to escape anymore. I have learned that my people love me and will treat me well, and I am now a calm, curious and affectionate girl.

My favorite activities are eating alfalfa, playing chase with Gunner and Finn and getting sprayed with the hose on hot days.
